I'm doing some research into bookgroups and would like to ask anyone who's interested a couple of questions.
In particular I'm interested in how your experience of reading a book compares when you read a book group book versus a book that you read that is not for the book group.

hi

I don't know there's that much difference. Maybe when I read a book group novel I am a bit more distanced from the text - thinking about it rather more critically than I would do otherwise.
I usually write down bits that I think the others in the group would find interesting, so maybe I'm reading it from the point of view of all six of us in a way.
The other thing is that it's not necessarily a book I would have chosen to read so sometimes I tend to approach it with less enthusiasm and open-mindedness.

Hope this helps!
